Kimbra

I want to share a little bit of happiness. This is gold. For the past three weeks, her album has been on repeat on my ipod and on iTunes when I'm at work. I love her vocal style which to me is soulful and jazz influenced. If there was anyone to get me to want to start writing songs and perhaps performing again, it would be all thanks to Kimbra.

Shidah

Lately, I've felt the urge to do portrait shoots again. My friends are usually my subjects. So I did one of Shidah last weekend. It was fun really. I've missed the sound of the shutter on a solid dslr. These are just two preview shots that I shot with my iPhone. I'll upload the real shots soon though. Stay tuned.

Nature walk.

Last Sunday, my friends and i ventured to Macritchie to visit the HSBC Treetop walk. I didn't realize though that we'd walk through dense vegetation and a golf course in order to reach the bridge, not that I was really complaining though. It was cloudy, it had rained half an hour prior so the forest was pleasant and there wasn't any suffocating humidity. I really am all for walking. Just despise stairs and steep slopes, which you get when you get closer to the bridge. The steep slope I mean. But it was alright though, my calf muscles paid the price only the day after(cos I haven't done slopes or stairs since I no longer work at Old School.) We completed the walk in about 2 hours or a little less(I stopped quite a few times to take pictures with my iPhone that you see here.) We're gonna try the trail that goes all the way to Bukit Timah soon though.

Nixon Art Mosh - September 11th 2011

I really like the effects of the spotlight on my work. I noticed a lot of people
touching my work though.

Nixon Art Mosh 2011

I will be showcasing this piece tomorrow at the Nixon Art Mosh at Old School. This picture isn't great though. haha

Commissioned pieces

I recently did a series of 4 posters for a nice lady from New York for her to hang in her classroom. They took quite awhile for me to do, especially since it was in A2 size. I must say, that I really (x infinity) need a proper workspace (aka throw away a lot of stuff and get a table.)

Trashy.

I have a tendency to shoot trash. I don't quite know why that is though. Sometimes, I think there is beauty in things we discard. Much like bittersweet goodbyes.

Shadowed.

Cos all you are is shadowed by your own doubt
your pretentious life and borrowed friends
your identity isn't yours
it was given to you
and you think you've found your own
but really, you are no one.
You are but a memory
a distant speck in the atmosphere
dust, I flick off my fingers
you don't know me
so don't assume that you're better than me.

Oh, Bay.
