Shadowed.

Cos all you are is shadowed by your own doubt
your pretentious life and borrowed friends
your identity isn't yours
it was given to you
and you think you've found your own
but really, you are no one.
You are but a memory
a distant speck in the atmosphere
dust, I flick off my fingers
you don't know me
so don't assume that you're better than me.

Blind

And we stare into the vast emptiness of the dark sky
and the ferris wheel turns ever so slowly
as if time slowed down
As do our hearts
And they beat as our breaths
But heave a sigh
We sit in a silence so loud
It is deafening
Blinding ourselves with false hope and lies
No longer is there truth when we allow love to die.

Artmire - Desiree Marshall

It has been awhile since I have seen or heard spoken word, let alone one this good that I or anyone can relate to. Desiree Marshall is a spoken word poet from Brooklyn and coming across this video "Fuck Facebook", which she tells of a love story gone wrong totally blew me away with her words and conviction.

WORD.: Season 2 Episode 2 from Creative Control on Vimeo.

"They say that actions speak louder than words but you told me to keep my distance, and so words are all I have left."
