I have a craft project lined up, but til then I'm shoe shopping, more so, adding to a list of wants. I justify another pair of shoes with the fact that I don't have so and so in a certain color. I'm not such a girly-girl but I do like dresses and heels. I'd like to wear heels to work but the idea of walking up and down the valley in 3 inch heels/wedges just doesn't quite cut it.

So these seem fit. :)

It's a 7 foot sleeping bag. And handsewn. I kinda like the next image better. It's just silly. I like silly.

Rob Ryan

I love Rob Ryan's work. All those intricate papercuts, I have mucho respecto for dis guy (sudden mexican accent). Which kinda reminds me that I have his book somewhere that I have yet to open that I got from the Wood Would shop at the Mandarin Gallery a couple of months ago.

I like keeping my hands busy, though most times I'm frozen stuck infront of the computer. I made an attempt at doing a papercut but on a much smaller, simpler scale for tryouts, a year ago. I haven't really been productive on the craft front lately so I'm posting works I did previously.
Those are lyrics from Bon Iver's In The Woods. :)
A few months ago, my boss at work had brought this book to my table thinking I might be interested and I immediately fell in like(not love.).

Niels "Shoe" Meulman is an internationally known artist, graphic designer, and art director. Meulman began tagging Shoe in 1979 and became a graffiti legend by the time he was 18.

That last image is just awesome and raw. I have this affinity for serif text and "some" calligraphy and squiggly lines infused together. *Note: I have a faith/hope ambigram on my right wrist.* And I have always thought about getting another text tattoo done and seeing that image, made me want it more. Unfortunately, I doubt I will be getting any ink jobs done anytime soon 'cos I have other plans to save money up for. But, would you look at that!!

Montage archive

Found this old photo montage taken in 2007 of my lovely friend, Wasya.

I'd always been fascinated with photo montages. It all started when I did my thesis on David Hockney years ago when I was still in school(and we all know that was eons ago). Shot with a 28mm lens.

Entry Numero Uno

It's a friday night. I'm in bed with tissue stuck up my nostril. Been on sick leave the past one and a half days with a fever due to an infection and my sinus has been acting up again. It's the start of the weekend. And while my girlfriends are out at Beerfest and the boyfriend along with my best friend are bringing their A-game to NBA2K10, most likely in a Lakers vs Celtics face off(the score for Game 7 earlier today was 83-79, by the way), I am pretty close to suffering an additional fever; cabin fever that is.

How's that for a first entry? Downer.

On another note, this blog will hopefully stay true to its intentions. With it being a creative outlet of sorts for me. To share the works I've done or will do or am about to do and also to share the works or random stuff that I like and that inspire me. And hopefully to keep this going and not get lazy.

The photo is of Chai from the Thai hardcore rock band, Brand New Sunset. This was probably taken in 1996 at a show held at The Arts House. They are a fantastic band to watch and I loved shooting them (about five shows I think) 'cos with that kind of energy, it made me strive to exude the same. I felt this picture appropriate for this first post not only cos it was conveniently in my hard drive, but also because last night, I dreamt I was going to Bangkok. But I wasn't really prepared, it was a last minute thing and I didn't have a hotel booked(in reality I like to plan and prepare these things) and in my dream, I was torn between living in a swank hotel or a backpackers hotel that I stayed in back in 1998(which was awesome). Anyway, I was about to board the plane and I remember texting both Chai and Toon(the vocalist), telling them I was headed to Bangkok. Unfortunately, I was woken up before my plane touched down.

I do need a getaway. Soon.
